The Yon Islands is an archipelago off the northeastern coast of Borea. Besides numerous islets, holms, and skerries, it consists of three main islands: North Yon, East Yon, and West Yon. East Yon is the largest island, while West Yon is the smallest. The islands are covered in mountain glaciers and humid taiga forests dominated by larch trees. Although the continental taiga north of the islands are lichen woodlands unsuitable for agriculture, the warmer islands feature closed-canopy southern taiga forests interspersed with small broadleaf deciduous trees, which is suitable for agriculture.
The shore west of these islands has long had significant commerce and contact with the islands; The area including both the islands and adjacent coast is known as the Yon region
